Join us on board carriage G of the Railway Society of Irelands ‘The Midlander’ train as we travel back in time and board a steam train for a unique whiskey tasting experience.

We’re delighted to be able to confirm that we will be joined by Irish Distillers Ambassador, Gerard Garland for this journey and he will be on board to bring us through our flight of whiskey and available to answer any questions you may have.

This journey is planned in such a way that the whiskey tasting experience will take place on the outbound leg of the journey, the journey from Dublin Connolly to Maynooth.

Our journey today brings us from Dublin Connolly to Maynooth, departing at 14:00. The journey time to Maynooth is approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival in Maynooth passengers will be able to alight from the train as No.85 ‘Merlin’ uncouples, runs around the train and couples again directly to carriage G for the return leg. Return to Dublin Connolly is scheduled for approximately 15:45.
